The facts…
- About 1 in 3 of us catch an STI at some time.
- Most sexually transmitted infections can be treated if discovered early on.
- If you are pregnant the STI may be passed on to your baby if left untreated.
Some of the most common ones:
- Chlamydia
- Herpes
- Genital warts
- Gonorrhoea (the clap)
How to spot them…
(but remember - there may be no obvious signs, so if in doubt, get checked out!)
- Soreness in genitals or tummy
- Discharge that looks or smells different
- Pain when peeing
- Peeing more than usual
- Itching, rashes, lumps, blisters or sores on genitals
- Streaks of blood in pee
